New Nikon D500 DX DSLR With HD Video

with 6 comments

For those moaning about the Nikon D90 video feature and exposure weaknesses, have faith, Nikon will soon be exchanging the Nikon D300. Tentatively named as Nikon D500, this is a 1.5x crop factor, pro/enthusiast spec camera with weather-sealing, liveview, built-in flash and video mode.

With more speculations, the Nikon D500 seems to land at 15.5 megapixels. The video capabilities are still 24 fps but with the added benefit of full manual control over exposure. With video feature that is on par with Canon´s 5D MKII, the Nikon D500 has the potential to see a much larger following since both pricepoint, cropfactor and Nikon´s flash handling tip the scales in Nikon´s favor.

As they say, expect the Nikon D500 to hit the stores late Q1 2009. Your guess is as good as ours.

  5. Nikon D90 Buff…

Ansel Adams described best why photography is an art form; it is an emotional expression: A great photograph is one that fully expresses what one feels, in the deepest sense, about what is being photographed….
